Pam Einarsen
About
A native of Michigan, Pamela Einarsen has lived in the Pacific Northwest and the San Francisco Bay area where her photography began to merge the humanity of her Midwest upbringing with the creative edginess of the West Coast. Her experience as an oncology nurse for ten years allows her to make people feel comfortable in front of her camera. She has exhibited nationally and studied photography at workshops around the country. Her corporate work has appeared in magazines and annual reports, including Mt. Sinai Children’s Environmental Health Center and publications such as the New York Times. For the last ten years, Pamela has been the official photographer documenting the work of agencies supported by Near and Far Aid. Pamela specializes in on-location portrait and lifestyle images, has been a professional photographer for 20 years and her work is in private collections worldwide.
Artist Statement
I spent most of my summers in Michigan in the water. This project, “Shooting Pool” was an exploration of swimming pools, swimmers and pool culture. It has been so enlightening to see how different each of my shoots has been—the ability of the swimmer (very beginner to master’s level), the weather (bright and sunny or cloudy and rainy) and then the play of light reflected on the pool and then looking up to the sky through the water. There is a synchrony and surprise that happens when I come back from a shoot and see the unexpected. Whenever I swim and photograph, I feel like I am coming home.

Jeanine Esposito
About
Jeanine Esposito is a sculptor and conceptual artist working in a wide range of media including sculptural fiber and paper, found materials, film/video, installation and photography. Her work has been featured in over 40 juried shows, she has had 4 important solo shows and won several awards including the Jens Rinsom Sculpture Award and her work has been featured in the New York Times as well as in others publications. She maintains a studio at Firing Circuits, an artist community in Norwalk.
In addition to creating art, Jeanine is active in the arts and innovation. She is an innovation consultant and Co-Director of Beechwood Arts, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit dedicated to expanding the way the arts are experienced and created by fostering collaboration across all arts. She has curated the work of over 200 artists across 35+ events at Beechwood and co-curated shows for Rhode Island School of Design, The Westport Arts Center and Gaining Your Voice Through the Arts. She also teaches handmade paper sculpture.

Artist Statement
Art is the only language that allows me to express certain ideas and emotions. Through art I seek truth and to express the complex relationship we have with it – how we search for & value it yet often find it difficult to embrace when it presents itself. The images here explore the impact of war, terrorism and displacement on children and all the complexities surrounding this – how adult humans consistently over centuries have put children in harm’s way on a grand scale; how we are all complicit either in the doing or in turning away because of not being able to bear it; how the more children this happens to, the harder it is to connect to it “human to human”; how children are helpless & vulnerable, yet incredibly resilient, with innocence and playfulness shining through sometimes in the worst of circumstances.

Katherine Evans
About
Katherine Evans (Kat) is an award-winning abstract artist whose bold colorful work has been featured in many exhibitions.
Her art is in private collections throughout the U.S. and Europe. Artist Statement
Color interaction and its ability to evoke an emotional response are important elements in my work...pulling the imagination into moods, movement and natural forms. I have had a lifelong passion for, and involvement in, visual communication and expression. Painting and design have been the outlets for that passion. I move into each piece intuitively, open to chance, applying complex color combinations. When I discover paintings within the paintings, I crop and layer parts of the whole to create a larger composition. At times I apply clear acrylic mediums to create depth and texture.
I am drawn to the color harmony of Helen Frankenthaler, Matisse, Rothko, Emily Mason and so many others. Images that emerge from the poems of Wallace Stevens, Emily Dickinson and Frank O'Hara inspire.
